Proudly Preloved – Our Sunderland Charity Shop Brightens Up the High Street for Pride

This weekend, in celebration of Pride, charity shops in Sunderland City Centre are bringing a splash of colour to the High Street and Blandford Street with vibrant window displays.

The initiative, aptly named Proudly Preloved, invites local charity shops – including our very own St Oswald’s Hospice shop – to create inspiring eye-catching creations using preloved clothing and homeware.

Organised by Sunderland’s Business Improvement District (BID), Proudly Preloved highlights the positive impact of charity retail, both socially and economically, while promoting the joy of second-hand shopping.

Volunteers, students and staff from organisations such as the Foundation of Light and Back on the Map were invited to ‘take over’ charities windows and let their imagination run wild.

We were delighted to welcome students from the University of Sunderland into our shop, where they styled a colourful collection of Summer outfits. Their creativity and enthusiasm have truly brought our window to life!

Pop down to Sunderland City Centre this Saturday, 14th June, to take part in Sunderland’s Pride celebrations!
