Thursday 29th January saw the launch of an ambitious and exciting fundraiser for St Oswald’s Hospice.
Three leading Newcastle-based firms, Hanro Group, Naylors Gavin Black and Womble Bond Dickison came together to kick off Pedal for Purpose: Coast to Coast – which will see 9 colleagues from across each company take on the coast to coast cycle challenge in September.
In the first of a series of fundraising events, the launch event, Fizz and Chips, took place at the Womble Bond Dickinson offices in Newcastle City Centre, where colleagues, friends and supporters gathered to learn more about the challenge and the cause, St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth.
Taking part in the cycle challenge are: Adam Serfontein, Duncan Barrie and Mark Reavley from Hanro Group; Angus White, Martyn Collins and Chris Donabie from Naylors Gavin Black; and Simon Rowland, Adam Heather and Richard Collins from Womble Bond Dickinson.
Steph Edusei, Chief Executive at St Oswald’s Hospice added, “Thank you to everyone who has signed up to take part in Pedal for Purpose. It’s an increasingly challenging time for hospices in the UK at the moment, but the support from our community, and the business community too, is invaluable and will help to ensure we are able to continue to be here for all who need us. Good luck to everyone involved and we will be cheering you on all the way.”
