Northern Bear’s Charity Golf Day triumph

A tee-riffic day was had by all who attended the annual Northern Bear Golf Day in support of St Oswald’s Hospice.

Now in their 9th year of partnership with us, Northern Bear assembled teams from across the North East for this popular event held on a sunny Thursday in June.  In addition to their round of golf, participants could have a go at beating the pro, try their luck in the raffle and a prize auction.

An evening reception followed where guests were able to hear from the staff at St Oswald’s Hospice and Leanne Pearce, a local artist who has been working with bereaved and pre-bereaved families who have accessed the hospice’s bereavement support and/or other care services, Leanne Pearce has created 12 poignant portraits and the collection celebrates the lives of loved ones, provides a positive, creative focus for grieving or pre-bereaved families, and supports them in their ‘continuing bonds’ process.

The day was a huge success and we’re delighted to share that the total raised is a whopping £20,000 to support our hospice services and the patients and families who rely on them.

We extend our thanks to Northern Bear for their continued support, and their colleagues and connections who took part in this event.
