Judith's Story

Judith tells us why she chose to leave a gift in her Will, and how you can do it too.

“I’ve supported St Oswald’s Hospice for a number of years playing the lottery and I received an email about Will writing and the free services available. Due to recent changes in my family, I thought it was a good time to organise my Will and doing it online was a convenient way to complete it.

I wanted to create my Will as I think it’s important to have to make sure my wishes are carried out, and being able to do it online with beyond enabled me to do it in my own time in the comfort of my own home. Using the online service was quick and easy to use, with good communication and quick responses from Beyond staff. I liked that it was an easy process and being able to do it in my own time gave me a chance to think about what I really wanted, and how I wanted my estate shared.

I would recommend it to anyone thinking about writing their Will. I found it a really easy process to understand. My top tips to anyone thinking about starting would be to organise personal details to get started, especially for those you want to include in your Will; like full names, address details and dates of birth, it will make it all easier for you.

I thought about St Oswald’s while writing my Will, and chose to remember them alongside my family with a small gift as it was an easy way to continue my support to the Hospice too.”
