GoVo and St Oswald's Hospice: A Volunteering Match Made in Heaven

At St Oswald’s Hospice, we’re passionate about volunteering and love partnering with organisations that share our commitment to making a difference.

One such organisation is GoVo for Business, a platform that helps employees unlock the full potential of corporate volunteering by connecting them with relevant and interesting opportunities.

St Oswald’s Hospice was one of the GoVo platform’s earliest adopters and played an important role in its testing phase. So, when GoVo employees were given the opportunity to volunteer with a charity of their choice, we were delighted that four team members chose us!

Two local volunteers said they already knew about us through our popular public art trail as “Everyone loves the bunnies and the sheep!”.

The GoVo team spent the day supporting our Retail Events Hub in Ouseburn, helping to sort, tag and prepare for an upcoming £2 Sale.

“We had a brilliant day. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and it was great to do something genuinely useful for the Hospice. After spending time with the Events team, we definitely feel more connected to St Oswald’s Hospice”

Local team members are now planning to donate items to our charity shops, while one volunteer has already expressed an interest in returning for more volunteering opportunities – amazing!

We were especially touched that two team members travelled a considerable distance to take part, demonstrating a real commitment to giving back.
