Christmas Tree-cycle

Our Christmas Tree-cycle Collections have now closed.

Thank you to everyone has booked on with us this year.

Woohoo, we’re nearly there with Tree-cycle.

Our Tree-Cycle team have collected a record-number of trees this year (almost 4000!) in some tough weather conditions!

The team of staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to hit Saturday’s collection deadline, however, we know there are a small number of trees left to collect.

If your tree is still waiting – please don’t worry – we’ve not forgotten and will be there to collect it shortly. Our vans will be out and about this week to collect the remaining trees and ensure none are left behind!

If your tree has not been collected by Monday 29th January please contact our Supporter Care team on 0191 246 9123 or email trees@stoswaldsuk.org

Thank you to everyone who has used the service and helped raised money for St Oswald’s Hospice.

Unfortunately not. We keep our orders open for as long as possible to ensure we raise as much money for St Oswald’s Hospice. Our orders don’t all come through at the same time, so sometimes vans will be in the same area multiple times and we can’t provide specific date or time slots as there are many factors we need to consider when organising van routes.

Ensure your tree is stripped of all decorations and any pots they stand in and placed in the location you specified on your collection form.

No, leave all branches in tact and make sure you haven’t pulled branches off the tree. This is for recycling purposes.

Your tree should be no bigger than 8ft.

Yes. All baubles, tinsels and decorations need to be taken off your tree pre-collection and removed from any pots they stand in.

Whilst all efforts will be made to collect your tree, safety of our staff and volunteers is paramount and in extreme and rare circumstances we would either have to re-arrange or cancel your collection. Any new collection may fall after Saturday 20th January 2024 and a full refund would be given if a cancellation was necessary.

Yes. Please specify on the booking form whether you would like to wait until after Twelfth Night for your tree to be collected. If you choose this option your tree will be collected anytime between Monday 8th January and Saturday 20th January 2024.

We take all collected trees to local recycling centres. From here they are then turned into mulch/chippings which will be used for landscaping, play parks etc.

What our customers say

"Last year all we had to do was take our tree to the front of the house and as if by magic the tree fairies from St Oswald's Hospice came and took it away for recycling! Clean and efficient, no car cleaning for me and a donation towards St Oswald's Hospice wonderful work. A great local community collection which I would highly recommend."
