Alasdair’s Expedition to Everest Base Camp

We’re cheering on Alasdair Ross as he takes on one of his biggest challenges to date. On March 21st, Alasdair will begin his 14 day expedition to Everest Base Camp led by Alexander Adventures.

As Executive Director of Business Network International (BNI) Northumbria, Alasdair, along with 16 other BNI members from across the UK, hopes to fundraise for three local charities within the Northumbria region: St Oswald’s Hospice, True Colours Theatre and The Three Tumours.

The expedition has been organised by Joe Alexander, Alexander Adventures who is a member of the Tyne Bridge Chapter within BNI Northumbria.

BNI is a global organisation with chapters worldwide and the group are planning to hold a meeting live from Everest Base Camp – a world first for the network!

This challenge is the latest in a series of fundraising events for the same three charities. In 2023, Alasdair ‘Walked the Wall’, the section of Hadrian’s Wall between Carlisle and Newcastle and raised funds at two recent Award’s dinners.

Alasdair’s challenge really is a big challenge for him due to a spinal injury which caused him to be medically retired from the police force almost 30 years ago. Despite this, Alasdair is a dinghy instructor and continues to enjoy hiking in the Lake District. He’s even climbed Mount Kilimanjaro!

Good luck, Alasdair and team! Thank you for choosing to support St Oswald’s Hospice and we can’t wait to hear about your expedition.
