As things begin to ramp up for this year’s Great North Run, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to our Team St Oswald’s sponsor, S and B EPS.
For a second year, the Cramlington based company has given their support to our cohort of runners as they prepare to participate in the 45th half marathon in September.
Darren Smith, Managing Director, S and B EPS, said, “We’re a local company, and it means a lot to us to lend our support to an important local cause in this way.
As members of the hospice’s Better Together Business Club, we hear about the life-changing impact St Oswald’s has on the people who need their services, so we’re proud to be able to do our bit to ensure they can continue to be there.”
In addition to sponsorship, S and B EPS have some of their own staff lacing up their running shoes and are really excited to join Team St Oswald’s on the start line.
Craig Hutchinson said, “Training is going great, I’ve done several races to prepare for the Great North Run: Alnwick 10k, Bamburgh 10k, Morpeth 10k, AJ bell Newcastle 10k and the Kingston Park half marathon.
I can’t wait to soak up the atmosphere and run with friends who I’ve been training with all year.”
David Scott added, “My training is going well and I’m hoping to beat last years’ time! I’m looking forward to the challenge, the race day atmosphere, and, of course, the post run pint.”

This year, St Oswald’s Hospice celebrates its 40th birthday. For four decades, we have been at the heart of our local community, providing expert and compassionate care to the people of the North East.
It currently costs £12 million to deliver our range of care services with around half of this needing to be raised through charitable donations.
Whilst we have a full team for the Great North Run, we would love to welcome any own place runners who’d like to join our team and raise much needed funds to support local hospice care.
