Susan Rickinson, Personal Assistant to Corporate Services, said a delighted “yes!” to a pre-loved wedding dress from our specialist charity shop, Posh Frocks and Bridal Boutique.

Why did you decide to buy your wedding dress from Posh Frocks and Bridal Boutique?

I was chatting to my colleague who suggested that I should have a look for a wedding dress at our Posh Frocks and Bridal Boutique in Whitley Bay. I am over a size 18 and felt that there would not be much choice with my size but decided to go along anyway and have a look, I took my Matron of Honour with me for support. I’m so glad I went along as I ended up finding the perfect dress, I felt so glamorous on my special day!

How was your experience in the store?

My experience was really good! The Shop Assistant took me into the room where all the wedding dresses were and picked out four that I could try on. She was really helpful and once I had picked the dress, she put it in a beautiful cover to keep it clean and fresh!

Was there a memorable or fun moment you have from the fitting?

Yes! When I tried the dress on, I felt so elegant and such a sense of relief. I had tried quite a few dresses, and they didn’t give me that ‘feeling’. When I tried on the dress, it almost felt like it had been made for me. I sent pictures to my daughter and who loved it.

How did you feel in the dress on your wedding day?

I felt amazing and really glamorous!

I got married at The Great North Hotel and my son was walking me down the aisle as sadly my father had passed. While I was waiting to go into the wedding ceremony room my son, looked at me and said, “mum you look beautiful”- it was a very special moment.

It also felt amazing when my husband looked at me and said “wow”.

I had the best day and there were so many comments about my beautiful dress – I proudly said that I had got it from our bridal charity shop and people were really surprised.
