It’s less than 4 months to go until the 44th Great North Run and our Team St Oswald’s couldn’t be prouder to have the sponsorship and support of local business, S and B EPS.
Based in Dudley, Cramlington, S and B EPS are one of the UK’s largest producers of expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation products and civil engineering solutions. The company strives for the highest standards in product quality and customer service.
The company support St Oswald’s Hospice in a variety of ways including through their Better Together Business Club membership, our low cost philanthropic club working to fully fund the salaries of two hospice nurses each year.
Speaking about their sponsorship of this year’s team, Darren Smith, Managing Director at S and B EPS said, “We are proud to be sponsoring the St Oswald’s Hospice team for this year’s event. Supporting causes that make a real difference in people’s lives is central to our values and we’re thrilled to be part of such a meaningful, local event.
“We wish all of the runners good luck!”
Sophie Hindhaugh, Senior Fundraiser at St Oswald’s Hospice, said, “It’s great to welcome S and B EPS as our 2025 Great North Run team sponsors. It’ll be brilliant to see our runners sporting their branded vests on this year’s start line.”
As part of this year’s Great North Run team, we’re excited to welcome three runners from S and B EPS: Ross Thain, David Scott and Kyle Downey.
Of the three runners, two will be taking on the half marathon for the very first time. When asked about how their training is going, Ross said, “I’m not really a runner but I’ve got a training plan and it’s going well. I’m really enjoying the challenge.”
Colleague David added, “I definitely could be pushing myself a little bit harder but it’s going well.”
Excitement is building among the team, all of whom are looking forward to experiencing the euphoric atmosphere along the way.
“I’ve been as a spectator and it’s fantastic so I can’t wait to be a participant and soak it all up,” added Ross.
Looking ahead to the finish line celebrations, food and drink is a common theme!
David said, “It’ll be a well deserved pint or three for me and plenty of food!”
Sophie added, “We’re really grateful to Darren and the team for their continued support and generosity. It means the world to us here at St Oswald’s Hospice.”
Good luck to everyone with your training and we’ll look forward to seeing you all in the charity village tent after the run.
We’re delighted to have a sold out team for this year’s event. However, if you have your own place, we’d love to welcome you onto our team. The funds you raise will go towards supporting our patients and their families.
