Dedicate a memory leaf on our Tribute Tree
St Oswald’s Tribute Tree, located within our peaceful and private gardens at the hospice, commemorates the lives of people whose families have chosen to open a Tribute Fund at St Oswald’s. The branches of the tree hold leaves engraved with the names of those remembere
Our Tribute Tree
When you open a Tribute Fund an engraved copper leaf will be placed on our Tribute Tree as a dedication to your loved one’s memory. From then on, all future donations from you or your family and friends, will contribute to grow the fund, and support others needing our care. You and your family are welcome to visit the Tribute Tree garden at any time to view your leaf or simply spend time in the peaceful surroundings. We also hold a yearly remembrance event, Tea around the Tree, for all Tribute Fund holders which you and your family will be invited to.
This is simply an occasion to gather together in a supportive environment to remember and celebrate the lives of people who have died and are remembered on our tree. Your memory leaf will remain on the tree for as long as you wish, with any donations from you and your family and friends contributing to your fund total. Alternatively, when the time is right for you, we can send your leaf to you in a commemorative box to keep as a lasting memory. To open a Tribute Fund we ask for a gift of £500. This can be paid as a one-off payment, by ten monthly donations of £50 or by pledging to fundraise £500 over the course of a year. Any donation you have already made to St Oswald’s in memory of your loved one, including a funeral collection, would count towards your £500. Setting up a Tribute Fund is a very personal decision and you may want to speak to a member of the fundraising team or visit us at the Hospice and see the Tribute Tree in person before deciding whether a Fund is right for you.
