Why should I get involved?

Running for one week longer and featuring 65 individually designed Elmer elephants, as well as a herd of 100 little Elmers created through our learning programme, Elmer’s Great North Parade is planned to be even bigger and better than the hugely successful Great North Snowdogs in 2016.

Once again, St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice has teamed up with Wild in Art to unleash a colourful and engaging art trail onto the streets, parks and public spaces of Tyne and Wear, taking place from August to October 2019.

In addition to raising significant funds towards the vital services offered by St Oswald's Children’s Hospice, based on previous experience, we expect Elmer’s Great North Parade to also attract thousands of visitors to Tyne and Wear and contribute financially to the local economy.

For ten weeks From August 2019, the North East’s streets, parks and open spaces will become home to a series of individually designed Elmer sculptures, painted by both well-known and undiscovered artists.

Some of the most popular, high footfall locations have already been snapped up on Newcastle Quayside and Grey Street, so they sooner you confirm your part in the trail, the better location you can claim.
