Dad paints his own version of Pebbles!
A parent at a North Tyneside school has been getting busy after buying a 'Paint your own Elmer' figurine based on the design of a member of Elmer's Great North Parade little herd. We caught up with Phil to find out more.
"I decided to recreate my own version of the Holystone Primary School 'Pebble' Elmer that was designed and painted by the school children!
"It was all done freehand, using just the paint and brushes provided in the pack and I have to say I'm incredibly proud and delighted with the result! Especially with me being a particularly unskilled and a 'non-crafty' person!
"It's crazy, I only did this as a silly memento for my son, Jacob, who was involved in the original version, but I'm so pleased with it! I've never painted anything whatsoever before! It's going to be displayed alongside the Patchwork Elmer and Snowdog ornaments that we had also bought from the range."
We think Phil's Elmer is fantastic, it's so lovely to see someone get out of their comfort zone and really enjoy doing something new. It looks so similar to 'Pebble' and I can see why Phil is so proud of his creation. His son Jacob is very lucky to have such a talented dad.
The Elmer merchandise has gone down a storm and this really shows that it's not just for children, adults can join in and get creative too. As well as recreating your favourite elephant from the trail, you could also design and paint your own idea.
