Bereavement Support
We offer Bereavement Support to adults and children after the death of a loved one.
Our bereavement care is delivered by specially trained support workers and volunteers and is available whether or not a loved one received care from the Hospice.
We aim to help those left behind cope and adapt to their loss.
We can provide:
• Individual 1:1 support at the Hospice or over the phone
• Group sessions to meet and share with others who are in a similar situation
• A annual programme of remembrance services and events
If you are struggling with grief, please contact Brenda from St Oswald’s Hospice Bereavement Support Team on 0191 285 0063 ext 2008 or email BrendaClayton@stoswaldsuk.org
Meet Vikki
Vikki’s husband, Bob, was cared for on the Adult Inpatient Unit. With an 8-week-old baby and two children under 5, Vikki needed practical and emotional support, which she found through our Social Workers and Bereavement team.
