At St Oswald’s Hospice, people find outstanding care – and so much more: joy, hope and support

Watch six short stories from people and families who’ve shared their experiences – and discovered hospice care was much more than they expected.

For almost 40 years, we’ve been here for people across the North East with free care and support.

We know the word ‘hospice’ can feel daunting and scary to some, and most people still know us for our outstanding end-of-life care – which is really great and reassuring. But we want you to know that we do so much more too.

Step inside and you’ll see it really is about ‘Quality time for everyone’, young and older, and from all backgrounds. People and moments matter at St Oswald’s Hospice. Come in to our safe place with us.

Meet some of the people and families we’ve supported…

Director of Care Services, Angela Egdell, says:

“Many people feel uncertain or scared about hospice care at first. But when they arrive, they find a warm welcome and acceptance, whatever their background – as well as the personalised care they need. Our services are always free and open to everyone, and most people tell us they wish they’d come sooner.“
