Make a Will Month

Throughout June 2023

Thanks to participating high street solicitors from across the region, you can make your Will at a reduced rate this June, giving you peace of mind and something to tick off your to do list.

Making a Will is the most important thing you can do to protect your loved ones

Not having a Will can lead to confusion, upset and uncertainty at what could be a very emotional time. Making the steps to get your affairs in order now will mean you can enjoy quality time with your family and friends, knowing that you have done everything you can to ensure they will be looked after. Thanks to participating high street solicitors from across the region, you can make your Will at a reduced rate this June, giving you peace of mind and something to tick off your to do list.

The suggested donation is £90 for a single will or £125 for a pair and your solicitor will make sure that every penny you give will come straight to St Oswald’s to make a difference.

Whether you are planning to move house, get married, start a new family or simply want to get organised, why not make June the month you get organised? If you have already have a Will, but need to make any changes, the Make Will month scheme is open to everyone, and allows you to get a great deal on making or updating your Will, while helping out a local charity.

Step 3. Consider your wishes

To maximise the time you have with your solicitor it would be useful for you to consider your wishes and make a note of your assets and beneficiaries. Your solicitor will assist with this when you call to make your appointment.

Step 4. Attending your appointment

Your solicitor will discuss your wishes with you and draft your Will. Make a Will Month appointments covers a basic Will, so if you have a large estate or your circumstances are complicated, your solicitor will advise you of any extra costs involved before you proceed. Your donation will then be directed to St Oswald’s Hospice to support those in our care. Thank you.

Your lasting legacy

While there is no obligation to include a gift to St Oswald’s Hospice in your will, this might be something you would like to consider. Legacy gifts are a very special way to continue to support your favourite charity, and at St Oswald’s Hospice, they make up over 20% of all charitable gifts each received every year.

Don't take our word for it

“I always knew it was an option to leave a gift to a charity, but it wasn’t something I had included in my original Will. Since volunteering at St Oswald’s I’ve heard of people leaving gifts in their Wills and seeing the huge benefits this has to the hospice I wanted to do the same, and leave my own gift.”
