This year, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel their in person remembrance services, as changes to Covid-19 restrictions meant that we couldn’t guarantee the safety of those attending our services.

While this was a huge disappointment, we are pleased that a special Light up a Life virtual service is still able to go ahead as planned, as it was recorded last month at St Oswald’s. The service will be broadcast on Sunday 19th December at 7pm on the hospice’s Facebook page and website. Everyone is welcome to join in to light a candle in a collective act of remembrance,

Last year, hundreds of supporters tuned in to watch Light up a Life at Home, and we hope this year will resonate just as much with our audience watching from across the region and beyond. Once again, we worked closely with local production company Turps Film, who were on hand to create another very special service which we hope will be just as warmly received.

Luke Holland, Creative Director at Turps Film said:

"It’s been an absolute pleasure supporting the St Oswald’s team with the virtual Light up a Life Celebration this year. We’ve worked with St Oswald’s Hospice for several years now, and find the work they do truly inspiring. We’ve all experienced loss at some point in our lives, and St Oswald’s allow us to commemorate those lost through the Light up a Life celebration.

Here at Turps Film we pride ourselves on producing meaningful video content that our clients can be proud of. We’ve absolutely loved working on the recent St Oswald’s project which allowed us to meet lots of lovely families, as well as the amazing team who make the great work of St Oswald’s all possible.

We hope that our involvement with St Oswald’s will support them in driving much needed funds, helping them to help more families across the North East."
