Hosted by our corporate team and held at the stunning 3Sixty Champagne Lounge, Hadrian’s Tower in Newcastle, guests enjoyed sun-drenched panoramic views of the city with their morning coffees and pastries.
There was a definite buzz in the air with over 50 people in attendance at the event and around 30 businesses represented. Midway through the morning, the St Oswald’s Hospice team took to the floor to share more about the work of the Hospice and the opportunities available for businesses to get involved.
Sonia Graham, Business Partnerships Manager, opened by thanking everyone for coming along and gave a brief insight into corporate support including choosing St Oswald’s Hospice as a Charity of the Year and taking on a fundraising challenge such as the Great North Run, coming together as a team to raise funds for the Hospice.
Sophie Hindhaugh, Senior Specialist Fundraiser, introduced the Better Together Business Club, our low cost philanthropic club which was set up to fund Hospice Nurses. Joining this club is a great way to boost employee engagement and be counted alongside other businesses, collectively partnering together to change lives for the better.
Our special guest, Shaun the Sheep was in attendance too, ahead of the St Oswald’s Hospice Art Trail launching in July this year. Libby Fryer, Events Manager, introduced the Shaun the Sheep on the Tyne Art Trail where over 40 large Shaun sculptures, sponsored by businesses, will be dotted around the city accompanied by several smaller sculptures adopted by local schools. There are still some sculptures available to sponsor, so get in quick and join the flock.
After another hour of networking and connecting, the event drew to a close at 11am with thanks extended to the team at 3Sixty and The One Collection Group.
Hailed as a huge success, the team are already planning their next event, scheduled for Wednesday July 5th 2023. Details and tickets will be released soon, so stay tuned to our social pages where we’ll make an announcement in due course.
