“I joined the lottery not long after it began and saw it as my way of giving a regular donation towards the work of the Hospice. When the letter telling me I had won first came through the door, I assumed it would just be a newsletter or something. I couldn’t believe it when I opened it to find a cheque for £1,000! I was ecstatic and told my husband straight away.
“Three weeks later I got another call from the Hospice. It was nice to hear from them and we were just chatting about my previous win when they gave me the exciting news. I’d only gone and won another £1000! I honestly couldn’t believe it, I was speechless. I’ve supported the Hospice all these years and it was such a shock but so lovely to win. We’re definitely going to go away now and celebrate our win and celebrate the end of my chemotherapy.”
