Our Values and People Charter

The St Oswald’s Hospice People’s Charter gives examples of the kind of behaviours that are expected of staff at St Oswald’s Hospice. Many of the expectations cut across all the Values and at its heart what is important to everyone is acting with kindness and respect, and being the best we can be every day. Our staff are all responsibilities in helping to make St Oswald’s Hospice a healthy place to work, with a positive culture of team working and commitment. All staff are expected to sign up to the People Charter, and by doing so they are contributing to the success of St Oswald’s Hospice and helping us to achieve our Vision:

Together, we will make the most of time and improve quality of life for everyone in the North East living with an incurable condition, and their families.

Together, with the vital support of our staff, volunteers, donors and supporters, we will continue to develop and grow our services so that everyone in our region gets expert, dignified and compassionate care when they need it.

Standards of Behaviour

Our Standards of Behaviour are a living, working set of standards which relate to our ABC - Attitude, Behaviour and Communication. They work together with and underpin our Values. They describe what we should expect working for St Oswald's and define how they act, behave and treat each other, for the benefit of our may stakeholders, including ourselves and our community.
