This week is #VolunteerWeek (1st-7th June) and here at St Oswald’s we are proud to be supporting it with our own celebrations.
Volunteers' Week is a national campaign honouring the work that millions of volunteers across the UK undertake. We are so grateful to the 1,100 volunteers who support St Oswald’s Hospice on a regular basis.
St Oswald’s has an exciting week planned to mark the occasion, with an awards ceremony on Sunday afternoon to pay special tribute to some of our longest-serving volunteers, and a special cream tea event on Monday to treat our volunteers.
Deborah Heron, Director of Human Resources at St Oswald’s said:
Volunteers’ Week is one of our most enjoyable and important occasions in our calendar. Although we appreciate our volunteers and the invaluable contribution they make every day of the year, to take some time out to celebrate our volunteers and to hear how much they enjoy supporting us, is very important to St Oswald’s. Without the selfless contribution our volunteers make to us in a variety of different departments, St Oswald’s simply wouldn’t be able to provide the high quality of care that we do.
Please visit our website and social media accounts throughout the week for news items, pictures and videos showing our Volunteers' Week celebrations.
