Saturday 12th September 2020
Newcastle Gateshead Quayside

Mini: ages 3 - 8
Junior: ages 9 - 16

Important announcement: In previous years, we have been able to offer charity places for the Mini and Junior Great North Run, to run as part of Team St Oswald’s. We have been told that Great Run, who organise the event, will NOT be allocating places to any charities this year.

Get your kids involved in a day of athletics on Newcastle Gateshead Quayside and raise money for St Oswald’s Hospice. Last year, over 350 of our amazing runners took to Newcastle Gateshead Quayside in their St Oswald's t-shirts to represent the hospice in the Mini and Junior Great North Run. Their incredible running and fundraising efforts raised over £30,000 for the hospice. We'd love you to join us and make 2020 bigger and better than ever!

We hope to make 2020 another fantastic year for our Team St Oswald’s runners and the patients and families that we care for. Although we can’t offer charity places, the good news is that Great Run are offering more places than ever before through their website, and we can announce the dates when they will be going on general sale so you can be prepared. To help you secure a place for your child, follow our step by step guide below.

STEP ONE:

Sign up to Great Run's Reminder Service

This will ensure you receive the latest information from Great Run company about places going on sale, so you can secure your own place for your child.

Sign up to the reminder service

STEP TWO:

Secure your place

This year, all Mini and Junior places are being sold by Great Run via their website, there will be no charity places available.

Places will go on sale on 18th February (Junior, age 9 - 16) and 25th February (Mini, age 3 - 8). You will receive communications via the Great Run reminder service ahead of general sale opening – keep an eye on your emails!

STEP THREE:

Join #TeamStOswald's

If your child is lucky enough to get a place in the Mini or Junior event, we would love for them to run for St Oswald's. By being part of our team and getting sponsored to run, they can make a big difference to their local hospice.

They will receive their very own St Oswald's t-shirt to wear on the day, a fundraising pack and loads of love and support in the run up to the event and on the day.

Once you have secured their place through Great Run, please let us know if we are your child's chosen charity by emailing us at supportercare@stoswaldsuk.org so we can add them to the best team there is!

Why run for St Oswald's?

Every penny you raise will allow St Oswald’s to be there for local adults, young people, children and babies with incurable conditions when they need us the most.

We have to raise over £7.5 million each year to keep our doors open and our service free. Any amount you can raise for us, no matter how big or small would make such a difference.

The Mini and Junior Great North Run is the perfect event to introduce your little ones to fundraising for charity and showing how they can help people in need of support. We would love them run for us in 2020!

Every penny helps!

Don't take our word for it...

"I’ve done the Mini Great North Run for St Oswald’s Hospice for six years – since I was three! It’s the best day ever and I love wearing my t-shirt, especially as my mum always get my name put on the back in sparkly letters! St Oswald’s is the best team to run for because their staff are there at the Quayside Seaside to cheer us all on and make us feel special. They also give us sweets at the end! I always ask my friends and family to sponsor me because the money helps the patients at the hospice."
