We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to contribute to the delivery of a high quality care environment for St Oswald’s Hospice by ensuring its buildings, plant and equipment are maintained to statutory standards.

You will be responsible for providing an efficient, effective, patient focused maintenance service for St Oswald’s Hospice’s Gosforth site with a focus on building maintenance, including mechanical, electrical and infrastructure.

You will have day to day management responsibility for ensuring the effective use of staff, volunteers, consultants and contractors in ensuring the  efficient, effective and cost effective upkeep of the building,  all mechanical and electrical plant and equipment, roadways, footpaths, gardens and grounds.

To be the Authorised Person / Deputy Responsible Person for specified, key aspects for the facility including medical gases, electrical and water safety and be required to act as Duty Coordinator on a rota basis out of hours .

You will;

  • Have four or more GCSE/”O” Level subjects at grade C or above
  • Have a formal Apprenticeship or craft equivalent and with experience, or have come from a City & Guilds/NVQ level 2 equivalent
  • Have IOSH / NEBOSH qualification
  • Have evidence of continuing professional development
  • Have four years multi-skilled proven maintenance experience including joinery, electrics, PAT testing, plumbing and painting and decorating
  • Have experience of managing staff and budget management
