Light up a Life events
Join us from home or at Gosforth Civic Theatre for an evening to remember
Last year, our much loved Light up a Life celebration event, usually held at Newcastle Arena, was unable to go ahead due to the pandemic. Instead, we held a virtual service where families could come together in remembrance, even if they could not be together in person, by tuning in online and lighting candles from home.
We had some fantastic feedback about our virtual event, as it meant many more people, including those living outside of the area, were able to take part. This year we are hosting an event you can attend in person as well as a special virtual service to join in with from home.
Everyone is welcome and you don’t need a previous connection to St Oswald’s Hospice to attend one of our services.

Tree of lights
A beautiful light installation, our Tree of Lights centrepiece, is displayed outside of St Oswald’s Hospice on Regent Avenue in Gosforth this December.
You are welcome to visit the Tree of Lights which will be lit every evening until the end of December. Each light will sparkle in memory of someone special, as a symbol of hope and love for our North East community this Winter.
