Ready for a challenge? Ready to take on the elements? Ready to see the Northern Coastline like never before?
What is it?
Coasteering is a physically demanding and thrilling pursuit which involves swimming, climbing, scrambling, canyoning, cliff jumping and diving. The challenge set by your instructors will showcase some of the finest coastline views the region has to offer, in an exhilarating and unusual way.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore the coastline and get up close and personal with the elements. This, in itself, presents a unique challenge to your inner adrenaline junkie. Essentially Coasteering is simply the movement along the intertidal zone of a rocky coastline. But in reality it is so much more than you could ever imagine. This unique movement along the landscape will take you on an unforgettable adventure. Are you ready for the challenge?
The activity is very much dependent on the conditions of the day which, luckily for you, means you will never be subject to the same route twice. There is no need to panic about your ability, the group will move at the pace set by everyone and which is comfortable for you. Of course, no one is left behind.
What is involved?
On the day, you could do anything from sea swimming, cliff jumping or even using surfboards as a means of transport. In terms of safety, our team is second to none. Each and every group is accompanied by a trained and expert instructor as well as spotters along the coast line and a safety boat for additional support. You will also be sporting some stylish headgear, wet suits and buoyancy aids to help you along your way.
If nothing else, think of the profile picture opportunities! This unique challenge will push you physically and mentally as you take on the Northern coastline. Coasteering is a great personal task as well as the perfect opportunity for team bonding. Why not get a group of colleagues together, friends or even your sport club. What better way to put your leadership skills to the test?
Here at St Oswald’s we aim to support you, every step of the way, with any challenge you may wish to take on. As much as you support us, we hope to support you, may it be through fundraising ideas, promotional material or training tips.
