Elmer on location to launch the most colourful event of the summer
Elmer had a lovely morning visiting Saltwell Park on Monday 18th March, dropping by with members of St Oswald’s Fundraising team to check out the location for our upcoming Patchwork Parade and Family Fun Day.
Elmer invited along some friends from St Peters RC Primary School in Low Fell, Gateshead to help launch this family event, and the children came dressed in their most colourful clothes for the occasion!
Elmer’s Patchwork Parade is a full day of fun, kicking off at 10am in Saltwell Park. Midday will see the start of the 3km Parade, which will see hundreds of people of all ages through the park in a wave of colour. We are encouraging people to dress up in the brightest clothes and get creative with homemade banners and musical instruments to create a carnival atmosphere. And once the Parade is over the fun will just be starting, with an afternoon of arts and crafts, fairground rides, music and entertainment and food and drink planned. You’ll even get a sneak peek of some of Elmer’s friends ahead of his Great North parade trail, which opens across the region on 21st August for eleven weeks.
Thank you to the children and teachers from St Peter’s Primary who came along in their coloured t-shirts and helped us show Elmer how much we all love him. We hope you can join him and his friends for a day of fun you’ll never forget.
