Elmer the Elephant will be sitting pretty this summer thanks to the North East’s leading furniture and flooring specialists.
North East based ScS, whose headquarters are in Sunderland, are once again supporting St Oswald’s Hospice by sponsoring one of 65 delightful elephant sculptures which will make up the eagerly anticipated free public art trail, Elmer’s Great North Parade.
ScS – which was founded more than a century ago - is a long-standing supporter of the Hospice and was involved in 2016’s Great North Snowdogs trail, when it sponsored the Dog on the Tyne sculpture, at Gateshead’s Angel of the North.
To show his thanks for the organisations support, Elmer the Elephant made a surprise appearance this week at the ScS Sunderland store, meeting staff and customers who were all thrilled to meet the loveable character and to discover all about his Parade.
Visitors to the 11-week-long art trail – which begins on 21 August - will be able to visit the ScS sponsored Elmer at its location on Whitburn Road in Sunderland.
