Our design was inspired by colour, pattern, our school and community. The creative department researched the ‘Elmer the Elephant’ story and then all students were involved in an art sculpture project in which they designed and made mini Elmers. These will be displayed within our school to raise awareness of the project. We wanted a really cheerful celebration of colour and mark-making as part of our designs. All our designs have been influenced by different styles of art that focus on pattern, colour and symbols. Influences have included Aboriginal art, our school, its colours and our local community in Durham. The name makes reference to Sir Bobby Robson, who was originally from Sacriston, where one of our schools is based.
