Darren Bird has worked as a graphic designer for 27 years. Over the last 7 years, he has built up a large following of his ‘Birdie’ racing cartoons and is known in the horse racing world as their cartoonist of choice. ‘Weighed in Nelly’ turns Elmer into a racehorse, complete with a saddle, rug, stirrups and white fluffy noseband.
