Sculpture Description

Tommy Anderson’s artwork combines aerosol art, typography, photography, collage and illustration – celebrating the everyday and overlooked. He believes that great art can come from anywhere, and is passionate about providing creative opportunities for people who wouldn’t usually have access to the arts. Tommy works with people of all ages and circumstances to explore a wide range of artistic processes, to gain understanding, enjoyment and reward from what they are doing. ‘Raybow’ is a celebration of everything that the young people of Blakelaw would love to do during their best summer ever – from playing in the park with friends and going camping with family, to flying a spaceship or becoming a superhero! A selection of symbols that could be understood by all ages and nationalities, were painted on to a colourful and dynamic backdrop inspired by drawings and airbrush artwork created by local young people. Raybow tells the exciting story of the ‘Best Summer Ever’!
