About the Learning Programme
Schools and not-for-profit youth groups in Tyne and Wear are invited to be inspired, get imaginative and join the herd by being part of the biggest art event ever to take place across the region.
In summer 2019, in addition to 70+ large Elmer statues that will be parading around the region, the north east will also become a playground for a whole herd of young Elmers keen to join in too!
How to get involved
Schools and not-for-profit youth groups can adopt their very own little Elmer for just £650. They can then design and decorate their Elmer which will join the parade for ten weeks from August 2019 and be displayed in a venue alongside other members of the herd. After the trail, the little Elmers will be returned to their own school or youth group, where they can either be kept and displayed, or auctioned to raise funds.
In addition to the statue itself, groups will receive a free Elmer big book and a learning programme resource pack linked to the curriculum as well as access to a range of fun and educational ways to fundraise for St Oswald's Children’s Hospice.
