Company completes a week of charitable giving with St Oswald’s

Dentsu Aegis Network complete a fun-filled week of fundraising!

A company with an office in Newcastle dedicated a full week to raise money for St Oswald’s Hospice.

Dentsu Aegis Network Newcastle office, came together to take part in the offices first ever Charity Week with St Oswald’s Hospice. The Premise of the week was to put teamwork skills into action to raise vital funds and awareness for an amazing cause. The selected challenges tested participant’s bravery, initiative and teamwork skills all for the coveted title, “The Ultimate Charity Challenger”.

The week starting on Monday morning, began with Newcastle’s 34 employees being split into five teams, choosing their team names and then a short brief on the exciting activities that awaited.

Throughout the week, the teams were challenged to complete a range of activities, all to help raise money for the Hospice. Challenges included; placing collection cans in places such as shops, community centres, a pub or café, visiting Asda Gosforth to take part in a bag-packing day, and finally each team was given a weird and wonderful object that they needed to sell, whatever way they could!

It was an amazing week seeing what everyone was coming up with. The challenges really made people competitive, which is a great characteristic in raising money for charity. We can’t thank the Newcastle office enough at Dentsu Aegis Network for taking part in a week long charity challenge. We hope everyone had lots of fun and the money raised has paid for over 24 hours’ worth of nursing care in the Hospice which is incredible and the awareness from the week is invaluable.

Teams were awarded points throughout the week for each challenge they completed and how it was completed. Colleagues shortly found their competitiveness streak and were doing everything they could to raise money and spread awareness.

The week culminated in a fun craft afternoon where, inspired by the charities Elmer’s Great North Parade, each team had to make their own elephant!

The week not only raises awareness for St Oswald’s, but the staff managed to raise £483.76. Everything the teams raised will go directly to the hospice, so that they can continue to provide care for terminally ill babies, children, young adults and adults, whilst supporting their families too.

Dentsu Aegis Newcastle has recently become a part of our Better Together Business Club and will continue to support us throughout the rest of this year, and beyond. If you or your company would like to get involved with St Oswald’s through a charity week or anything else, please click here.
