Meet our Fundraisers

St Oswald's Fabulous Fundraisers!

The role of a Fundraiser is varied. They can often be found giving talks to community groups, schools or companies, attending coffee mornings and cheque presentations, or organising events such as the Christmas Fair and Light up a Life. Fundraisers are also on hand to offer advice and support to members of the community who are organising events for us.

Supported by a small army of volunteers, we’d like to introduce you to our four Fundraisers:

Newcastle and North Tyneside

Bev Heron

Bev Heron, from Chapel House, is our Community Fundraiser for Newcastle and North Tyneside. Bev has worked at St Oswald’s for four years and is looking forward to developing relationships with supporters in her area.

To contact Bev, please call her on 0191 285 0063 ext. 7924 or email bevheron@stoswaldsuk.org.

Northumberland

Margaret

Margaret Schofield, from Kenton, originally came to work for St Oswald’s temporarily for five weeks in 2005 - and has never left! Margaret is Community Fundraiser for Northumberland and says she is looking forward to dispelling the myths about hospice care and building lasting relationships in her area.

To contact Margaret, call 0191 285 0063 ext. 362 or email margaretschofield@stoswaldsuk.org.

Gateshead and North Durham

Viv

Viv Williamson is new to St Oswald’s and joins us as Community Fundraiser for Gateshead and North Durham. Originally from Glossop near Manchester, Viv is now living in Gosforth with her partner. Whilst working for a small charity based in Leeds General Infirmary, Viv discovered her love for fundraising. Viv is excited to get started and to meet the supporters in her area.

To contact Viv, call 0191 285 0063 ext. 7927 or email vivwilliamson@stoswaldsuk.org.

Sunderland and South Tyneside - Children's Service

Dorothy

Dorothy Alderton, who lives in Jarrow, joins us as Community Fundraiser for Sunderland and South Tyneside. Dorothy will work with supporters from those areas to raise funds for our Children’s Service. After taking a secondment from her twenty years in the civil service, to a small children’s charity based at the Newcastle General Hospital, Dorothy realised that she wanted a career in fundraising. She is relishing the challenge of working with St Oswald’s.

To contact Dorothy, please call 0191 285 0063 ext. 360 or email dorothyalderton@stoswaldsuk.org.

Each year, St Oswald’s has to raise £4.5 million through charitable giving. Without the support of our local communities we simply could not continue to care - thank you.
