Green Solutions
Go Green for St Oswald's!
Would you like to help St Oswald's raise money and at the same time, help the planet?
Here at St Oswald's we are very aware of our responsibilities when it comes to sustainability and the environment. We have lots of ways for you to help fundraise and for us all to become a little greener.
Paperbank Policy
We have a paperbank on site at St Oswald's and at various venues across the region. The banks have been kindly donated by the company Abitibibowater and for every tonne of paper that we recycle, the hospice receives £5.
Come along and drop off any old/used paper and help us raise money to keep providing our services for local adults and children. For details of other sites that are supporting St Oswald's download our pdf at the top of the page.
We are also working with schools around the region. Paperbanks have been provided for pupils and parents to help us recycle and raise money. Download our pdf to find out if your school is taking part in our scheme. Parents; if your child's school isn't involved in the scheme let them know about this great way to help the hospice and the environment.
Save yourself money and water while making money for St Oswald's!
In conjunction with the company Eaga, we are offering our supporters a chance to save money on water bills.
Eaga has produced a new ShowerSmart product that could save you up to 12,000 litres of water a year and reduce your carbon footprint by 1 tonne. The appliance is free and for every supporter who signs up, St Oswald's receives 50p.
For more information, or to get your free ShowerSmart, visit www.eaga.com/stoswalds or call freephone 0800 953 0033 quoting 'St Oswalds's'.
Going Mobile
Working in conjunction with 'Greener Solutions', for every old, broken or unused mobile phone we take delivery of, St Oswald's will receive £2.
No matter what condition your phone is in or what make/model you
have - if you no longer want it, help us to raise some extra funds by donating it to us.
You can drop your donated mobile off at our Adult Reception, on Regent Avenue, Gosforth, or at any of our 14 shops around the region.
Please note: we cannot accept any accesories or batteries as they are not recyclable.
Jewellery Jamboree
If you have old jewellery cluttering up your dressing table don't just throw it away! We can recycle all your broken neclaces and odd earrings with jewelleryrecycling.org Your unwanted jewellery can be turned into funds that help us provide our services.
To donate any items - gold, silver and all costume jewellery welcome - please fill a jewellery recycling envelope and post it free of charge. For you envelope, please call Amy Wilson in fundraising on 0191 246 9123 or email amywilson@stoswaldsuk.org
