Light up a Life at Christmas
Christmas can be a particularly poignant time of year when you are missing someone who has died. Every year thousands of people are remembered at our Light up a Life event in December, gathering together at this busy time of year to pause, reflect and celebrate the lives of those important and special people who are no longer with us.
Light up a Life for a loved one
Light up a Life is an uplifting and supportive event with carols, performances from Newcastle Concert Band and a local choir and a chance to see our Light up a Life tree adorned with thousands of lights shining in dedication to those being remembered. This event is free to attend and all are welcome.
From October to December each year, you are invited to dedicate a light on our tree to remember your loved one. In return for a donation to Light up a Life, a light will shine in memory of your loved one on our Light up a Life tree. You will receive a personalised card containing the name or names of those you have remembered. You receive an in-memory star to write a message to those being remembered which can be brought to our event or hung at home.
If you’d like to, you can also attend our service in Newcastle in December, where hundreds of people of all ages gather together to remember loved ones no longer with us. Details are usually published on our website and social media in October.
