Adult Services
Welcome to the Adults Services section of our website. Within this section you will be able to find out further details about the services we offer, read patient and family stories and there is also a health care professionals section.
Who We Are
St Oswald’s adult service provides hospice care for local adults with life limiting conditions, such as Motor Neurone Disease and Cancer.
Following a holistic approach, we strive to provide ‘quality time’ for patients, by not only addressing their physical symptoms, but also their emotional and spiritual needs too.
Since opening in 1986, the services provided by St Oswald's Hospice have evolved to meet the changing needs of all those whom we support. We provide people throughout the North East with inpatient care, an outpatient clinic, a day treatment centre, a day hospice, and a complementary therapy service.
Our team includes consultants, doctors, nurses, physios and occupational therapists, social workers, chaplaincy and complementary therapists.
Patients are referred to us by their GP, Consultant, District Nurse or local Specialist Palliative Care team.
